If you hang around the East Area of Taipei (東區) often, you’re probably aware of the ubiquitous izakaya (居酒屋, a type of Japanese restaurants) on the streets.
Long story short, the price of food at an izakaya is above average…….and you usually leave the place feeling hungry still. Nevertheless, the traditional Japanese atmosphere, plum wine, and delicious yakitori will satisfy you. Well, at least they satisfy me 🙂
So this other day a friend from elementary school track and field took me to this izakaya called 作田や串燒 (with like another 5 by it lol). It has a very (very ) limited space where people had to crowd around the main bar, but man that Japanese design and atmosphere were so chill and calming.
