Wow, I’ve been so incredibly lazy for the past two months! I should really start writing these again, instead of just a few lines on the Facebook page 😛 Oh wells.
華火(Hanabi) is a relatively new izakaya in Nagasaki city, Japan. (I was in Nagasaki for 1.5 months this summer ^___^) and, it’s definitely one of the best I’ve been to! Their yakitori is so amazing, and the people are very nice and friendly too 🙂
I apologize for the lack of photos…..was too distracted by the good food in front of me to take photos of the restaurant haha.
鶏レバー (chicken liver), ハツ (chicken heart), せせり (chicken neck), 玉ねぎ (onion), ささみ[ゆずごしょう] (chicken, yuzu pepper flavor), draft beer
The difficult part about yakitori is that you want the meat/vegetable to remain FRESH and JUICY after the grilling. The chef here does a very good job! Everything I ordered was very on point. Onion has the natural sweetness, meat is juicy and not overcooked. The spices for the yakitori is so good too – adds flavor without covering the taste of the food themselves.
Usually my favorite is hearts (for either yakitori or lu wei), but the liver here is SO INCREDIBLY TASTY! Chewy, juicy, fresh, and goes perfect with the green onions, salt, and other spices. If you ever visit there, this is a must!
鶏レバー (chicken liver), ささみ[ゆずごしょう] (chicken, yuzu pepper flavor), ささみ[梅肉添え] (chicken, plum flavor), 白菜の豚バラ巻き(pork and napa roll), draft beer
The best part about Hanabi is – not only it is delicious, but it’s also reasonably priced! So I can go ahead and order what I want without worrying that I’d be broke for the week 🙂 It’s the kind of place that you’d wanna go back to!
