It may be somewhat basic of me to like a popular ramen chain like Ichiran一蘭, but it’s SO GOOD that I just can’t resist! So of course I have to visit once I’m in Kyushu, the origin of Ichiran (and tonkotsu ramen)!
I chose to go to the Tenjin Nishidori天神西通り location since Tenjin is a great place for shopping in general, and this location also offers the special “Kamadare釜だれ” style. The ramen soup is made from stewing roast pork in a big pot (dare) for boiling, and it’s said to have deeper flavor and stronger aroma (which is what I LOVE about ramen in Japan!)
The bowl here is also a special box shape! Different from the other locations I’ve been in Tokyo.
It was SOOOOO delicious that I ordered extra noodles 替玉 because I wanted to finish all the soup (and also I really wanted to see the words of victory in the bottom of the bowl haha)
and of course……I regretted having the extra noodles because I was so uncomfortably full afterwards…..but I did get to see the words haha 🙂 [この一滴が最高の喜びです] (This last drop is the greatest joy? sorry for the poor translation www)
Even when I was about to throw up from the gigantic bowl of ramen….I still had to order dessert xD So I had this special seasonal matcha pudding that used Yamecha tea 八女茶, which is a popular kind of Japanese tea originated from Fukuoka. 🙂 and it was really good also! Glad I had it 😀
Conclusion: Ichiran never fails to satisfy me ❤ Ramen was amazing and dessert was good too! and I also love how I don’t have to interact with anyone xD
