小酒串燒 Shochu Yakitori / TAIPEI

Me and my friends were wandering in Dongchu (East district) the other night, and decided to try this yakitori place in Huashan Cultural Park. The place is well decorated in loft style with wooden furniture, and the atmosphere is nice for drinks. Not loud like a bar, but chill so you can actually talk to your friends! Also the waiters’ uniforms are kind of vintage style, cute! 😀

They have quite a range of drinks to choose from: Korean shochu, Japanese sake, cocktails, western wine, beer, etc. We all ordered different drinks and they were all REALLY good!!! I only had a couple sip of their Lychee Shochu (picture below) and I liked it a lot! Shochu does not have a strong taste itself, so the lychee sweetens it up a bit with the natural fruity flavor 🙂

So I don’t remember what my friend ordered (picture below) sorry, but it looks pretty haha! I think it’s some kind of mojito.

I absolutely loved my Shiso Mojito though, it’s such a creative combination, and you can really taste the shiso! I love shiso so this was awesome haha. There are some lemon bits in it also! Would definitely go back for this, everyone else loved it, too! 🙂

You can never not order something to go with your drink at an izakaya! I was really craving calamari for some reason that night, so that’s what we got 😛 I like how it’s not covered with flour like how American diners or some Italian restaurants do it, I was in for the chewy-ness of the calamari itself!

Such a fun place to be! ❤

Yay to friendships!

Conclusion: I miss their Shiso Mojito already! Have to go back soon! A little pricey but the atmosphere + food/drink quality is worth it 🙂
