點點心 Dimdimsum / TAIPEI

When this place opened a while ago I saw so many people posting pictures of their food, and gave really good reviews of it. Then, when it was introduced in 康熙來了 last year I was determined to go 😛

I passed by it during dinner hours a couple days ago and jeez, the line was so long it was definitely around a two hours wait! So, today we went at around 2pm on a Tuesday and did not have to wait at all, yay 😀

The environment is okay, but since it’s located in B1 of a department store I wasn’t expecting much in the first place.

There are not a lot of options, so no filling stuff like fried rice or noodles, everything comes in small portions (dim sum for reals!)

We only ordered 4 dishes to share, and all of them are pretty good! Quite different from other HK restaurants in Taiwan I’ve been too.

*No pictures of 蟹子燒賣皇 (Pork Dumpling with Flying Fish Roe) here, but it was one of my favorites! It appeared as average as it can be, but tasted surprisingly flavorful! Pork is very firm and juicy, and the taste of it lasts in your mouth for a little O__O

My favorite one is 脆皮鮮蝦腸 (Crispy Rice Flour Rolls with Shrimps) ❤ It’s kind of like 腸粉 without sauce (I added some soy sauce myself), but even better! There is 油條, a little vegetables, and shrimp in it…..and omg the taste of 油條 rages across as soon as it touches the tip of my tongue lol. So good and crispy and soft!

We also had the classic radish cake 香煎蘿蔔糕 (Pan Fried Radish Cake). It was the most-radish radish cake I’ve ever had……because there are actual radish chunks in it! So surprising!

Finally, the one I came here for – 豬仔流沙包 (Piggy Custard Bao)!!! I had really high expectations of it because everyone was talking about it on the internet……it was good, but not THAT amazing. The filling is definitely really good (and hot!) but the skin is somehow too thick, I feel like it would be better if the skin is a little thinner so the amount of flour consumption can decrease a bit while the whole thing would be sweeter, more flavorful, and more dessert-like.

Conclusion: Really recommend 脆皮鮮蝦腸! Would be willing to swing by again if I happen to shop in the area, but wouldn’t go specifically for it (and definitely not going to wait in line haha).
